I recently got new speakers in car , I drive a 07 Toyota corrolla verso as the right speaker was gone and the radio would work and then make a popping sound from speakers and would cut out , the display on radio could still be seen but no sound . I got speakers replaced but I still have the same problem . Is the radio banjaxed or could there just be a loose connection somewhere as it will work for a while before going off again !

It sounds like one of your speakers is shorting & tripping out the amplifier in the radio. Your speaker wiring is probably catching somewhere & earthing. Check all your wiring.

The fault you describe is not a speaker problem . It is an internal fault with your radio .

I would go with this diagnosis as the most likely. Even if you had new speakers installed a speaker wire going to ground or shorting somewhere will cause this. Could even be perished and broken cables in the door boot which I have seen happen before.

When your radio looses sound and cuts out does the illumination on the display also go off ?
