Lti book and perceptions

Hi just wondering if anyone has ever been told about a €20 charger every six months on their Lti book?

    (Reason for asking)
I recently changed pharmacy after moving to a different town. The lady in the pharmacy had asked me to get a perception of everything I'm on from the doctor I'm with now so that's no problem. When I went down to the doctors the receptionist said to me that there was a charge of €20 and something about every six months. She spoke very fast so I didn't quite catch what she had said. But I was like oh well could I get back to you on that (because I wanted to look it up) I have been in the scheme for two years previous to this and have never had to pay €20 before just for a prescription. So just wondering if anyone else has had any encounter like this?
    Thanks in advance 😊

The LTI book covers your free medication. It doesn't cover services by your GP. Whether or not the GP charges is totally up to them.
You were lucky with your last GP that they gave free repeat Prescriptions. Some will charge a €10/ €15/ €20 fee.......some will even insist on a full review and charge the €50 or whatever the full fee is. It's really up to them. It's definitely becoming more common to charge for everything now, which is fair enough really. The GP has had lots of cuts to their income and increases in workload, plus they have to legally be responsible for that prescription.

Yes, you can be charged for a gp to update scripts every 6 months.
