Nitecore TIP (keychain flashlight) €10 Gearbest

    EXPIRED

Deal starts at 11am, limited to 500 pieces, $9.99 + shipping. I believe it's just the Black Nichia model which will be discounted.

    https://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_434456.html

Total price €9.66 with shipping. Ideal stocking-filler

It's a USB rechargeable keychain light. 220 lumen on turbo (very bright) plus various other modes.

This is the Nichia model (Nichia high-CRI emitters are very popular among flashlight enthusiasts, lower output but a more pleasant light with better colour rendition).

Was going to buy one but they want a passport number as part of the delivery address? Is there any way around that?

Never seen that and i've ordered loads of stuff from them. Paying with Paypal or CC ?

They have a rep here who might be able to help you but I would say the 500 units will be gone by 12pm

Just ordered one, didn't ask me for it. Are you paying with paypal ?

  • Just bought one. Paid with PayPal and no mention of a passport. Already have a cheap Nitecore keychain light and it's superb. Just hope Gearbest come through with it at this time of year.

The cheaper one (Nitecore Tube) is also available $3.99 (with coupon KEYGB). About €4.50 with shipping. Coupon works on Black version, dunno about others.

It's more basic and only 45 lumen but still handy and more than enough to find the fusebox etc. The old 2xAA Maglite incandescent which I remember having as a kid was like 5 lumen :pac:

Tried again and it was asking for PP number again (see attachment). I tried submitting the order by leaving it blank and the passport area disappeared???

By the time I'd finished checking out the price was back up to €35. Ah well.

I don't know what the deal is there, I never saw that. Asking for tax ID suggests maybe you registered as a business customer or something? I have no idea.

The deal has expired now, I knew it would go quick because that was a very good price for the Nichia version.

  • Maybe because he was on the mobile site? I dunno just clutching at straws.

It's about €15 shipped. Which is still a relatively good deal but the price at 11am was €9.66 shipped.

    Far better deal HERE

6 x 300-350 lumen zoomable AA torches for £20. Supposed to be very good too as I saw them recommended on some flashlight/bugout/camping/hunting sites.

They’re not going on a keyring though ;)

That's a generic €2 flashlight. If you want 6 of them for €23 go for it.

Nope, but OPs are too big for a keyring too, IMO (unless you have huge pockets).

I have already ordered them. Should be arriving midweek. A 350lm (advertised, probably closer to 115lm for a Q5) zoomable mini light for €4 fulfilled by Amazon is a definite bargain.
The S3 is rated by CREE as max of 164lm. http://www.cree.com/led-components/media/documents/XLampXPG2.pdf
    So €4 for a 115lm mini torch for glovebox/bag/coat or €10 for 164lm light.

IMO, the AA-swappable, zoomable, 115lm light for €4 wins.

Either way they are cheap generic ones.. Plenty of them in ebay - https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Ultrafire-7W-CREE-Q5-LED-3500lm-Mini-ZOOMABLE-Flashlight-Torch-14500-AA-Black-BT/322574662087?hash=item4b1af2b9c7:g:dpgAAOSw2xRYegwC

    including 6 for 12 euro - https://www.ebay.ie/itm/6X-Mini-CREE-Q5-7W-1200Lm-LED-Flashlight-Torch-Lamp-Adjustable-Focus-Zoom-Light/112418798007?hash=item1a2caeb9b7:g:6QEAAOSw6oBXEeVq

I'd rather deal with Amazon than some randomer on eBay tbh. I've been burned on eBay before.

If those sellers are legit then it makes OPs deal look worse.

Nothing special, usually fake emitter. Listen, if you just want a cheap flashlight it'll probably do the job. Go for it. There's a place for cheap lights and a place for good lights, each to his own.

I just think that posting 6x €2 flashlights for €23 and saying "far better deal" is a bit silly. It's a different deal, it's a different type of light, it's a different quality of light.

For anyone who wanted one and missed out, the Grey Nichia CRI version will be $9.99 (+ship) at 18:00 today using code Bfriday133. Code won't work until the deal goes live.

    https://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_434466.html

I think it's limited to about 100 units.

  • But why would I want that when I can get a load of rubbish, bog standard torches on Amazon for £20? I mean all torches everywhere are basically the same no matter the price aren't they?

    No, they are not.
