    Hi
Anyone know or have experience with changing a Speedometer ?
Is it possible to change the speedometer on an imported car so that I have the Kmh instead of mph as primary. Car is a Ford Fiesta 2010.
If I use a used Speedometer, can I get the correct odometer reading, preferably in KM to show?

    Thanks for any info

If you get a set with lower mileage than your own then you can swap them, but your car wont start as your keys will need to be coded in to the clocks (minimum of 2 keys) and the mileage can be adjust up but not down to match your real mileage. You will need to find someone with the correct software though.

Odometer will still read miles, but you can swap back to the original dial faces come sale time, as it will certainly be a minus point that you swapped the entire speedo, even if you have all the paperwork in the world to back up your mileage

Thanks for the clear answer. Do you know if that software is going to be Main Dealer only or would independents have it?

If done correctly nobody would know the speedo was swapped, vin and mileage will be correct if done with the correct tools. Some independents will have the software, we do

Surely kmph clocks on a uk import would be a big clue that speedo was swapped?

I'm not sure anyone would notice really? car is old enough most probably wont even bother with history check so might not even know it was imported. Would look alot better than having the mileage recorded in miles and speedo in KM, all nct readings etc would be off as they would presume it is KM
