Do you get the day off?

Check with your employer. Would assume it varies from company to company.

A part-time worker who has worked at least 40 hours in the 5 weeks prior to a public holiday is entitled to be paid an extra day's pay if they are required to work on the public holiday (in OP's case, 16 hours).

If they're not required to work on the public holiday that falls on a day they normally do work, they are entitled to a day's pay (in OP's case, 8 hours).

If the public holiday falls on a day that the part-time worker does not usually work, they are entitled to 1/5 of their average working week's pay (average calculated over the preceding 13 weeks).
