Insuring an English registered car in Ireland

Hi, my husband lives and works in London. The children and I live in Rep. Ireland. He has brought a car over to Ireland which he uses to travel to the airport (in NI) from the Republic (he will leave it parked at airport until he returns). The car is registered to the address he lives at in the UK.

Will I be able to get this car insured with an Irish insurer being that it is registered to the UK and on English plates?

    Thanks

The plates will have to be changed to Irish plates if the quote is in your name.

You're husband won't get a quote at all as he is not resident here.
