Do you have a licence for Windows 10?
Hard enough to migrate best fresh install to avoid driver issues and the like.
This all depends on weather this is a windows 10 licence you bought or a free update to windows 10. If its a free update you will not be able to bring across as its tied by the hardware in old system.

Early this year left a similar system behind.
    Q8300
    8gb ram
    4650 graphics

    Went with
    Intel i5- 6400
    16gb ram
onboard graphics as i dont game.

You don't need an 8600K, those chips are meant for gamers who like to overclock.
    • What's your budget?
    • What will you be using the PC for?

I am open to correction but the way i previously did it was to download the windows 10 usb install direct from microsoft and install that on the new computer. Have your windows 10 key from your previous computer written down.

You can install and run windows 10 on the new computer and work away on it, it will prob not take your old key for the new computer so if you ring microsoft and explain that your old mobo & cpu developed a fault you couldnt fix so you needed a few new parts usually they will sort you out.

Would i be still able to use windows 10 on both pcs?

The orginal pc was running windows 7 when purchased if that makes any difference

those three are coming in at £645 from amazon ,so thats about the budget .
had a go at overclocking a few years ago ,thats why i had the K
using for editing video / photos / and a bit of music production .
may add 4k bluray at some point too.

Go for an i7-8400 instead of i5-8600K

Those extra threads are more useful than raw clockspeed.

Alternatively, get a Ryzen 1600/1600X/1700 setup.

    just to update ,
    i got
    CP-64C-IN Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz (Coffee Lake) Socket LGA1151
    Processor - OEM
    £307.49
    MB-32F-MS MSI Z370 SLI Plus Intel Z370 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX
    Motherboard
    £116.66
    HS-035-AR Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler 1 £14.99 £14.99

    total £537
    from overclockers

oh yea and the ram (from amazon)

    Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz - Blue
    178

so actual total came to about €800 .
i have just finished putting it all together , re connecting the old case and hard drives ,
was expecting to have to reinstall windows , but started her up and it all works . no reinstalling anything,
Photoshop fly's along now as does davinchi resolve . haven't tried anything else yet , but so far happy with it all .
