Balancing / Lockshield Help

    Hi All,

I just moved to a new home (existing property) and the majority of the radiator valve / Lockshield caps are missing.

I have bought replacements but have no idea to identify which side should be the valve and the other Lockshield, is there a easy way to determine which side is which as I don't want to install the caps with the spindle drive on the wrong side for fear that air will end up unbalancing the system.

It doesn’t really matter that much, but lock shield is usually in return. You can identify it by feeling which rad pipe is slowest to heat from a cold start.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"
