I have a battery operated electric fence.

I put a new battery in it at the weekend. I notice that as well as the fencer ticking, there is also a hum off it. Is this normal?

I wouldn't think so. Have u the right size battery in it - make sure correct voltage.

Is it humming because of wet and heavy weather. High tensile wires near here always hum when there's misty rain.

Humming or the high pitch whine of the capacitor charging up then the bang of the release.

could be the high pitch whine.

I have a second fencer and I never heard this noise on the other one
