I've seen other people asking their vet for the prescription and using vetuk.co.uk to order the medication cheaper. If you happen to be on Facebook, Dogs first had a post about it the other day.
I've not used the service or really looked into myself

Vetuk.co.uk is one of those dangerous sites.. you go on for something random and start seeing all these unusual bits and pieces you need lol!! :D

Bailey is actually off the NSAIDs in favour or Tramadol or whatever the vet brand name they have on it is. He's down to 2 a day and at that I think I'm going to try dropping it down to one soon.

It can depend on the dog and what works. The NSAIDs weren't helping him at all. He was even on a combo of Onsior (supposed to be easier on their kidneys) and gabapentin for nerve pain and again no joy but the tramadol has helped a lot. It doesn't whack him out either. CBD or turmeric paste didn't help. We're going to be trying a different supplement and fish oil combo once they get delivered so we'll see how he gets on with it! Is your poor dog sensitve to the cold and damp? My two have fleeces more for drying them off they're wet but I've put Baileys on him before when he hurt his back to keep him cosy - they love them and never want to take them off lol :p

Yes my parents elderly cocker is also on tramadol now for the arthritic pain and it's really helped and doesn't seem to have any side effects. It's a low dose and not necessary every day. He only recently changed to it (maybe 3 months) and we're finding it great.

Ha my dad used to do this many moons ago, for one of our gsds who had arthritis. He always felt it helped! I have no scientific evidence to back it up though. But yep he'd regularly smuggle bottles from a fella over the border for that purpose. (Ok ok maybe he'd have the odd swig himself!)
