RTE Gold on Saorview

Is it possible to connect an Alba saorview box to a stereo amp in order to listen to the audio output only? I would like to listen to RTE Gold at work rather than listening to it from the telly speakers.
The amp has phono connections and there is only a scart connection on the saorview box so if I connect a scart to phono adaptor,would it work?

It should work, I do something similar with a sky box to amp, works fine.

Those Alba's also have an optical out. So if your amp has an optical input, you just need an optical cable.

The amp is an old Denon so no optical audio connection. I too use it for listening to radio on a sky box, it is compatible with the amp with phono connections. Ok will get a scart to phono adapter and see how it goes!
