    I think that's a common frog, we only have one species of toad here, the Natterjack Toad as far as I know.

    As for the OP - Toads are a classification of Frog so...... they are frogs

    Okay. The pictures are "true frogs" or Ranidae as opposed to "true toads" or Bufonidae.

    No one knows how or why they were introduced. They were discovered already established. And yes, introductions are a really bad idea.
