It sits between the Outlander and ASX so a Qashqai rival it would seem.

The dash looks lovely lots of style very Lexus NX like. A pity it only seems to come in Petrol for the moment hopefully they will add a diesel.

I'm surprised they haven't decided to use the 1.5/1.6 dCi engines from Renault/Nissan as Renault bought a big chunk of Mitsubishi in the last few years. The replacement for the SpaceStar will be a rebadged Clio.

Maybe they will but this was designed before Renault/Nissan bought into Mitsubishi so maybe they are not compatible with it. It will be the last wholly Mitsubishi only designed model by Mitsubishi.

Who signs off on these cars? No wonder they were in the red.

Thank god. That Spacestar looks a nasty, cheap little thing. The Colt/s that preceded it were far better cars and were actually competent in their class.
If the new one is based on the Micra/Clio it'll be an excellent vehicle already. They should re introduce the Colt name for it.

The colt was cheap and nasty too tbh and was outclassed by most of it's rivals.

They were a hell of a lot better than the Spacestar comparatively. At least they were comparable to rivals, the Spacestar was a step backwards and went further to cheapen the brand.

I really don't think they were tbh. I think both cars are similar in terms of quality both in build and on the interior. The colt had more modern euro styling but other than that I don't see much between them.

The Colt was on par with rivals around 1993,or so, after that it was always way behind.

Exactly this. The colt of early to mid 90's was a decent car and completed well with every other car in it's class. It was far better than some, such as the fiesta but after this model things took a nosedive.

Strange there's no hybrid available. I would have thought they'd have an option similar or better than the Outlander phev

Can you imagine saying "I drive an Eclipse Cross" or "Yeah, she got one of those Eclipse Crosses"

The new Micra and Clio don't share platforms.
