Humax FVP-4000T satellite connection

A bit of advice needed.
I was looking at the Humax box detailed above. I want to connect it to a "Sky" satellite (I have two free connections from the TV point to the LNB) a TV in a spare room. I assume it needs two connections to record/view at the same time. I am holding onto sky for the short term but I hope to move away if this box works .
My questions are:
Will this box work if I connect as is to the "Sky" satellite without adjusting the satellite?
Is it as simple as connect into the back of the Humax box?

HI Johnboy, thanks for the reply.
That's the problem, I looked at the box in a shop and I can't see any mention of satellite tuners (or connections to a satellite, if that is a similar thing). Checking online is also vague.
I thought that you would need a satellite to pick-up UK channels or am I wrong?

From what I can find, the Humax FVP-4000T is a FreeView terrestrial box. FreeView is the UK equivalent of Saorview, using a conventional aerial and is generally only available in border counties or some parts of the East coast. FreeSat uses a satellite dish.

Most of the UK channels are available via their terrestrial system called Freeview (The equivalent of the Irish Saorview).

So to receive those channels here you need a Free to Air satellite system at minimum (unless within the range of one of the NI Freeview transmitters).

As far as I am aware you cannot use all that fancy on demand etc stuff in Ireland. It is UK only.

So you apparently need either two sat dishes, one for UK channels and one for Saorsat, or else a suitably set up (large?) dish with both systems set up.

From there you need a satellite receiver ...... one suitable to your needs ...... recording facilities, maybe Netflix, etc etc

As the lads posted, no, this box won't work with your dish - terrestrial only, you will require one of these Humax Freesat boxes - https://uk.humaxdigital.com/product-category/freesat/

The Freesat boxes will work with your dish as is, run the extra cables from the dish, simply plug and play.
