He currently drive a 151 Sportage and is thinking of getting a new one.

He asked me what I thought of it today and I said its ok. The thing is I still think the old model looks far better than the new one and it has been very reliable not a thing gone has wrong with it. I don,t see why he wants to change again but he does. The interior in the new one is either very black or a light beige which looks to me cheap.

I think he would be much better in a Mazda CX-5 or a Ford Kuga as he has had three Fords before and there is great deals on the Kuga at the moment.

The Nissan Qushqui is also nice and Nissan have that deal on where you can buy a 181 and change a year later for a 191 but how does it work? is it a good deal or is there a catch?

    Budget would be around 30k.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I think the catch with the Nissan deal is you pay list price, which on a Nissan is unthinkable.

Is it tied into taking Nissan finance also? The current Qashqai will be fairly old too by the time 191 comes around.

You can only do 20,000kms a year with that Nissan deal

Sure they can call it qashqai + 191

It really shows how the Qashqai has fallen from grace in recent years. They never had to advertise them before, but you see the scrappage deals last year and the year before and now this offer (which they used years ago to shift Almeras that nobody wanted) is really the nail in the coffin. They were the cheese there for 6/7 years.

The crossover market is crowded with younger competition these days.

You mention that he never had any issues with it. I've had 2 Kia Sorentos and I can say the exact same. Not sure whether you would get the same flawless ownership experience from the other cars you mention. I had 3 Fords, all caused some big enough problems, same with Nissan, Renault, Mitsubishi. My friend bought a new Mazda CX5 SUV two years ago and has been back to the dealer with several (albeit small) problems.

There is a reason Kia give a 7 year warranty. However, Personally I think the Hyundai Tuscon looks the best of this bunch \ segment and the Kia is ahead on most other factors, spec etc..

TheTucson will be a victim of its sales figures down the line though.

Mitsubishi,s come with an 8 year warranty now do.

The Tucson does look better from the front than the new Sportage but its interior is so boring and dull. I think the Sportage interior is the best of the two.

The Seat Ateca could be a contender, I've heard many good things about them.

Ye he could like that. The dealer for Seat do is a bit further away not sure if he would be happy with that as the Kia/Mitsubishi dealer is local and is very handy when he has to get the car serviced or if anything went wrong which never has.

Skoda Kodiaq. It starts just under budget so might need to go over a bit if extras required but it reminds me of better value than Audi Qs

That,s a fine big car alright but he prefers cars just a bit smaller now. He had an S-Max many years ago when they first came out and since then has just preferred a car just a bit smaller around the size of the Sportage or Skoda Karoq.

Suzuki Vitara is a nice tidy Suv with good reliability and competitively priced.

Ye they are ok but a bit small and the dash is very plasticy and cheap on them. It would be a downgrade from the Sportage.
