What kW is your own shower and what voltage is it? It'll be either 230v or 240v

The triton shower you are looking at isn't intended for the Irish market. It will have no war in Ireland nor will you be able to get it repaired.

You will only have a lukewarm shower in the the middle of winter with a 7.5kw shower. You really need 8.5kw or 9kw for Ireland

Do you know what cable size you have?

The triton shower you picked out will replace your old one but you will need an 8.5kw or 9 kw but if you want a warranty you need to buy the shower in Ireland. You need to be careful of anything that you buy from a UK company here. Screwfix, b&q, Argus etc sell some models from the UK. There is no warranty with these.

My personal choice would be to replace it with a triton t80z or a Mira. I'd stay away from all other manufacturers.

It's illegal for you to replace the shower yourself. I'm just pointing that out. Because you don't know the history of the original installation I would suggest getting a registered electrical contractor in to replace the shower. He will make sure that the correct cable has been used, make sure that you have a RCBO for the shower at the fuse box and he will test the shower from the board to the shower. He will cert this work too.

Thanks for the help, I wouldn't trust my self changing it anyways so was going to get someone in to do it anyways.
