    Typo in subject: AluPVC

    Hi all,

Im looking for some feedback for windows & doors i am replacing. I am unsure whether to go aluPVC or alutimber. Im edging towards alu/PVC as it will likely fit better with my budget, but would like to get some feedback before making a decision. Some queries below.

Im aware theres been a tonne of similar posts, but many of the threads / replies are going back years, so thought id open a more current one :)

Is there issues with moisture or similar with alu timber windows?

Is there a substantial price difference, and is it justifiable in terms of energy saved?

In summary, what are the pros and cons of each?

Can anyone recommend a supply & fit company for alu/PVC? I have been recommended TheWindowsAndDoorsCentre in Bray. Has anyone any first hand experience with these guys?

Also is there a particular time of year when one might get slightly better deals? I had been advised January, as people tend to not want their windows & doors pulled out that time of year.

Is it worth exploring purchasing foreign/online and having an installer do separately?

Note, it may be slightly on the lower side of things (and potentially rule out alu/timber), but my budget for standard front and back door and 3 standard size windows is around the 5-6k mark, supply and fit.

    Thanks in advance,

    D

Moisture should not be a problem assuming your internal ventilation is appropriate.
Price depends on a number of factors, prices can be similar
Please read the forum charter we can’t provide recommendations on thread.
    I don’t think you’ll get seasonal discount
If you source abroad how does the guarantee work?
At your budget you’re looking at low end aluclad (aluclad is typically alu/timber)

Thanks for that Bryan, much appreciated.
