Bridesmaids- wedding gift

    Hi All,

I am Bridesmaid for my friend in a couple of months. I was just wondering what the norm is in terms of a gift?

We have been close friends for 12 years and it's just me & the Bride's sister that are Bridesmaids, so I don't really want to ask her sister. This is the first time I have been a bridesmaid so I'm not sure of what the norm is.

She has been a great Bride, and is insisting on covering pretty much all costs! Dress/ Shoes/ Hair/ Make up AND accommodation for two nights. :)

Now myself and her sister are organising an extra special hen weekend for her, so we are already spending about €200 extra each (on top of what we are paying per person as a group.)

I also am going to the wedding solo as I'm a single pringle. Usually on my tod at weddings I give €150... I was thinking €250 or €300?

    What to people think?

I was the only bridesmaid at a wedding last year. A lifelong friend. She paid for everything except my shoes. I got them myself purely because I was in shop one day and they were there. She tried to pay but I just let it go.

I gave her €200 cash as i was in a couple and then I also got a personalised gift that I presented on the day of wedding to her. That cost €150 roughly but was for herself and himself.
