Opening beach landing a bit...meh?

Did anyone else think that opening level(s) were a bit lackluster in how they were delivered? I thought Omaha beach landing fell a bit flat, in that it seemed over very quick and not as much as a gut punch as it was in other games that done it previous. I think the sound design seemed off or maybe it was my audio, but I think it needed to be more chaotic. Also the mid level narrative seems off, as if the voice actor is just calling it in?

I am finding the game is only starting to pick now I have gotten to the French liberation.
