Gmail & Google play apps not working on Huawei T1 7 Media Pad

Hi, have a Huawei media pad T1 7. Google play and Gmail apps already on it. Having issues, factory reset but Gmail app will not allow me to add my Gmail, Google play is just blank screen, though looks like it's trying to sync something. Any advice would be great, thanks
