Was absolutely taken aback when I read this. Surely such meddling with a case as serious as this should have some kind of back lash on your political career.
Ok I know there wasn't an interference with the trial and prosecution but to have a public sway for leniency for such a serious matter when holding public office in your country should bring ends to careers.

If they had written in support of Tom Humphries, they would have lost their job by now, but the saintly TDs think they can do what they want.
It should be 25 years, not 5 and a half. Some little **** wanting to kill a person, Prince Charles in this case, and destroy all the progress made by all sides in keeping the country going forward. Too long the likes of these ****$ have been tolerated. Any other country would have given a life sentence.
