The car is here in Ireland a few months, currently out of mot and is currently SORN. Can I just continue to buy the car as if it was over in the UK?
Current owner has not declared export on it to DVLA as hadn’t planned to leave car here. I have done a check on my wheels.ie on it and no nasties there. Know current buyer through a friend so knew anyway car has no issues but no harm in checking.

well you'll have to be inventive over the date it came into the State,(or pay the late VRT penalty) but if you mean are you committing an offence buying it, I think the answer is "no" but technically the Owner is not entitled to sell it to you

You now need to show evidence of how it got here too, ferry details etc. It's not as simple as it used to be, I'd steer clear to be honest.

If you're getting a great deal on the car, go to your local VRT office and ask questions prior to buying it.

I forgot to say I would be carrying it back to the UK. I have no intention of changing plates. I’m returning working to the UK.

sounds OK then, I'd guess you should tax it in the UK before getting the ferry and book an MoT somehwere near the ferry port..

Make sure to sort the SORN/tax out before heading back. Technically it can't be SORN'd unless it's stored in the UK off the road - being overseas doesn't count. North Wales police, historically, were more ANPR friendly than many. Easy to sort online before driving back along the A55.

How can someone be banned here and still be able to post.

It seems to be similar to continuing to drive after being put of the road.

They most likely got banned after posting here, possibly by a mod in another forum.

There is a serial troller who appears here under new user names nearly every day. The style and theme of their posts are always the same. I'm sure the mods/admins have some way of recognising these serial trolls too, probably through their ip address, etc.
