Amazon Delivery Dates

Just ordered 3 books (all in stock) direct from amazon (not 3rd party sellers) and selected the free delivery 4-5 working days option.

After confirming the order, the details are displayed on screen showing estimated delivery date 24th November - 11th December.

What's up here? Is there some sort of slowdown now caused by Brexit?

What did amazon say after you got in touch with them about it?

I think it can depend on where in the world that Amazon has those books. If they are not all in the same warehouse then they will often collect them altogether before sending them out.

Amazon are also getting a lot of overseas, third party sellers. Lots of stuff is coming from China, however unlike ebay, Amazon don't tell you.

ok, checked my email this morning and I had a reply.

Apparently (according to amazon), even though all the books were showing in stock, one of them had availability message 'usually dispatched within 2 to 4 weeks', which I didn't notice.

Amazon have upgraded my delivery to standard (at no extra cost) and the 2 other books will be sent out first for arrival on Friday.

The earliest arrival date of the third book seems to have improved slightly to 22nd November earliest (which I presume is due to the delivery upgraded from free to standard).

Amazon must have noticed I buy quite a bit of stuff of them. :D

That's good customer service right there. It's certainly one thing you can't fault them on.
