Rent a Room Relief Undeclaraed

Required by Revenue to fill out Form 12 for the first time

Received rental income between 2014-present which qualifies for Rent A Room Relief - never informed revenue of my rental income or filled out a tax return before. Does this mean I may be liable for tax for the income in 2014/2015, even though it qualified for Rent A Room Relief?

I also have Medical Expenses plus unclaimed Medical Insurance Relief for years 2013-2016 which I’d like to claim for - do I need to fill out Form 12 for each of the years to claim this?

I also have a small income from share dividends (less than €300 per year) - does this mean I must fill out Form 11 instead of Form 12?

Go to revenue.ie and from there to MyAccount. Register for that (if you have the required information you can get instant access) and from there you can amend any returns you've made for the past 4 years.

File the form 12 for 2016 and include Rent a Room in it. There's a place for distributions/dividends on the Form 12 too.
