Looking to replace my Range Rover - what other options are there?

    Hi lads,

I'm looking to replace my 162 D Range Rover Vogue SE with a similar vehicle. I need something that can go off-road.

I already have a 152 Land Cruiser for work, a 171 5 Series which I may change in the future for a 7 Series and I also have a 141 Jaguar XJ which I'm getting rid of because of its crap reliability, which is the same reason I'm selling the RR. Are any other Land Rover's good for off-roading? I had a 2012 Freelander before I got my RR.

Would the new RR be better? What about the X5 or the Q7? Are there any other cheaper but still upmarket options? Like a Mercedes-Benz or Volvo? Remember, they have to be good off-road.

I can barley afford what I have already, so I'd like to keep it cheap.

    Thanks in advance,
    Joe.

Do you want something remote-controlled, or something that you push along while making Vroom-vroom sounds?

Anything except a Range Rover will be better than a Range Rover.....given their lack of reliability...

IMHO Range Rovers are driven by people who want to be seen driving Range Rovers....the OP being the exception that proves the rule ;-)

Take a drive in a Skoda Kodiaq! (I kid you not!). Great bang for the buck...you'll be very pleasantly surprised by the build quality and even more pleasantly surprised by the price! I'll have one when I next change....or as soon as a few decent used examples pop up on autotrader or cargiant....

Owned several RRs , with the exception of the original leylamd build , all have been very reliable and most were kept until quite high mileage > 200,000 km

Why can you not use the Landcruiser for off-road?

Who says they drive a '7 series' or whatever the case is, I'm pretty sure if you own the car you say 730d or whatever the specific model is unless you got it in smyths

I thought they used the model version code, more so than the name?

-with my e46 parked outside. (Granted it's but a lowly 316i)

Eh...no. And he said he may change in the future for a 7 series. I assume he'll decide which model before he buys it.
We all understand what OP means by a 7 series. Further clarification not necessary....

Someone was scoping out his 171 530d on Wednesday.

OP must be the Irish version of Harry Metcalfe, from EVO fame & Harrys Garage videos.

Same troll, same style of threads every time, just a different day.

The 530d and E Class from the other day must have been robbed. Really poor effort by OP, 0/10.
