Do these machines take Aldi/lidl etc capsules also, or are you tied to De'Longhi brand?

They take Nescafe Dolce Gusto pods, https://www.dolce-gusto.ie/coffee-pods so won't take the Nespresso pods found in Aldi/Lidl.

I have the machine and even though it's good value I would go for an automatic machine, this one is manual.

I'm a coffee machine virgin and this is probably a stupid question, but could you explain the difference?

Automatic: Press the button and wait for it to stop
Manual: Press the button and dont forget to stop it or the kitchen counter is covered in watery coffee (its happened to me)

Yes theirs an app you can get which tells you how many seconds each different pod needs the water running for but it would be a lot easier to just buy an automatic one and press the button.

Only a small thing but there's not much of a price difference with other machines be it dolce gusto, tassimo or nespresso.

The dots on the lid indicate how big the drink should be.

We've got Tassimo and DG and TBH the Tassimo is the better system.
