Hi. I've just started watching Breaking Bad on Netflix (for 2nd time). Had season one seen and maybe one or 2 from season 2. Sat down tonight to resume but it didn't appear right. Then noticed that it had skipped to middle of season 5. Now I can only see season 5. Am I doing something wrong. Logged out & back in, no difference. When I watch on phone, same story.

Ya only S5 E9 to E16 showing for me.
    Imagine it’s a glitch that’ll be fixed.

See, the problem here is you're rewatching something when theirs loads of other stuff you could be looking at for the first time.

Netflix knows this and to save you wasting your time it has removed it.

Touch of Sarcasm there, I'd say.
I rang Netflix and they say there's a licensing issue..... i.e. they probably gave away rights for a channel to air.... anyway for me that's not good enough....... the cynic in me could also conclude that it's coming up to box set time of the year.... and someone would like to cash in.....
Netflix have no problem spamming you with whats new coming up, but never warn when a season is about to cease..... I'm cancelling Netflix for a few months to teach them a lesson, and will BORROW a box set from someone.

Not their fault, they are getting shafted left right and center from the TV studios.

Its more a case of the studios letting Netflix know who is the boss.

Nobody gives shows away the production company (Not Netflix in this case) make huge amounts of money selling the licensing to different broadcasters that's why the licence is for a set time so they can then sell it to another bidder once that time limit is up.

With all this fragmentation of streaming services we'll be right back where we started by this time next year.

Why would they give their competitors the advantage of knowing when their licence ends so they can bid against them for the next set of rights.

Do you think Sky, Amazon etc tell everyone when their licence ends.

Of course the advertise what's coming that's to get people to sign up.

    .

Hadn't thought of that aspect of it, it is a fair point. That said it is f**king annoying when it happens, has happened me twice I'd be half way through a series and next thing I know its gone.

It'll be like the Premier League.

In the 90s you paid Sky what was then a reasonable amount, and you got to see everything that was on. Then they brought in an extra package (PremPlus) with PPV offerings on top of that. It didn't work out too well for them as most subscribers didn't want to pay extra on top of the existing premium charge.

But then the EU stepped in anyway and the rights were split between multiple providers, all requiring separate subs and more costs to the customer - only made worse when these providers started bidding against each other for the rights.

It'll be the same thing here... if you want to keep up you'll need Netflix, and Amazon, and Sky, and Disney. Ridiculous!

    This is it, unfortunately.

Netflix lost It's Always Sunny over the weekend in America to Hulu. Apparently it'll be on Irish & UK Netflix for the forseeable future but Netflix has lost a lot of its lustre.

Or like the football, and the other pay sports suffering declining subs, people will use other sources. Companies all got greedy thinking that they can make more money by bidding huge amounts for the content and charging to watch but the consumer has reached the limit.

To be fair they are producing so much of their own stuff i am not that bothered over third party content.

Think i read somewhere they are putting 8 billion into original content for 2018

Seems to only affect Ireland, BB is all there in the UK.

Edit: Seems to have returned in Ireland.

It's happening to me now. I can only see episodes 9-16 of season 5?

How was it resolved for others?
