AnPost tracking weirdness

    I have two parcels on the way from china. I checked the tracking for both of them this morning. One of said it was delivered at 6PM yesterday. It definitely wasnt. I checked it later in the morning and it said out for delivery. Just checked it now and it said attempted delivery at 1.30PM. thats fair enough as i wasnt there. But it was says delivered at 6PM today. It is not yet 4PM. the other parcel is also showing the attempted delivery at 1.30 and delivered at 6PM. Both came in through the dublin 12 mail center. anybody have a clue what could be going on?

    From what I've heard when I asked someone about it , since something similar happened to me , just some weird software bug that occurs occasionally .

    I sent a Reg parcel to Canada on the 23rd.It was scanned leaving Dublin on the 24th and for the past eight days no update on the An post site.Customer service told me that you cannot track a reg parcel in Canada.Parcel finally got to Vancouver in the last hour,maybe an post will update their tracking system shortly.

    It's the bizarre scanning system.

    Some options on the scanner like redirect to a post office etc show as a successful delivery in the track and trace even if you have not collected it yet.

    Bit like the Garda breath tests. Keep the figures up.

    It's Canada post at fault here they don't share there international tracking online, if you even go onto their website and put in the tracking number it won't show any info hence no update on anpost tracking. Same thing with Australia post aswell.

    From what I know the packages are still scanned on delivery, but they just don't show it online. I had a package before a buyer claimed he didn't get, opened a dispute but anpost were able to get me proof of delivery directly from Aus post, would make things a lot easier if they just showed online though.

    All I'll say is we send about 500 parcels a week with an post - used to be dpd.

    No breakages, no losses, evening delivery, text notification, email notification, customer ability to arrange redelivery, delivery offices open til 7pm for missed delivery

    That's why they are the leading delivery service.

    Still not perfect, but miles ahead of others.

    I had a package disappear for 10 days because Aus post don't allow you to track them .

    It was actually for America , but presumably because there was an identical looking package for Australia , both were sent there .

    Got word from the person in Australia they had received their package and discovered at that point I couldn't track items in Australia anymore even though I had told them last Xmas that the package sent to them was sitting in their local office and no attempt to deliver it to them

    Anyway about 10 days later the missing package pops up on the USPS website saying it has come from Australia where it had been apparently sitting in a Auspost facility before they decided to pass it on to the correct country
