Ireland Transit added to Apple Maps

This was mentioned elsewhere on boards when it went live a couple of weeks ago but I thought it would be a good idea to point out here that public transport routes, directions and real time information has been enabled on Apple's Maps application (macOS and iOS). Coverage seems to be fairly comprehensive.

The phone app has a couple of nice features compared to the Dublin Bus or TfI Real Time app:
    - For bus stop real time info, it appears to show the next three buses due on each route served, extending past the one hour limit of the 'official' apps.
    - In addition, the last departure of the day of each route is given or, if it has ended, the time the service resumes in the morning
    - DB, BE and private firm's stops which are co-located but separately numbered and listed on other apps are often amalgamated into one stop
    - clicking on the route number shows you the full route on the map. And it shows the actual route travelled, not just the locations of stops.

    There are glitches:
    - I've discovered that several southbound stops between Blackrock and Dun Laoghaire just have the 7N listed and are missing the 7/7A.
    - The 39 appears to be serving UCD as well as the 39A
    - The 145 and 46A don't stop at Foxrock Church north or southbound - a pretty big one that!

There is a reporting mechanism on each to let them know about errors. I would encourage users to let them know what's what.

The 39 serves belfield once per day. (Last service)

I'd also point people to the app called Moovit, which is far more powerful then Google or Apple maps for transit information.

One particularly nice feature is that you can tell it what stop you want to get off at and it will send you a notification two stops before it and again at it. VERY handy.

I did not know that. Odd one.
