Hi there, I've brought my cat to the vet several times about this issue and he gave her a cream and it seems to fix it for a couple of weeks before it's back again he says it's a skin infection but I'm unsure if that's all it is.
She does go outside every day and while on the cream I kept her inside , even when it went away the first time I kept her inside for another two weeks but it came back again anyway. It's sore for her and itchy , she keeps licking it.
The photos are where it keeps occurring on her stomach and the inside of her back legs.
If anyone knows what it could be or has had similar issues with their pet I'd be grateful for any help

The poor wee pet, I'm sorry but I have no idea what it is. Have you considered bringing the cat to a different vet? I done that before and while the first vet treated the symptoms the new vet treated the cause. Hopefully you get an answer soon

Yeah I think I'll find a different one for her! I was just reluctant to go to a different one because the people we used have been our vets for a long time! It's getting too serious now so I'll definitly bring her somewhere this evening and get it looked at! Also curious if it's contagious to humans I rub the cream on while wearing gloves obviously but sometimes I forget and go to pick her up and also end up hurting her when I touch it :(

I would definitely go to a different vet and get their opinion. Did the vet ever swab it to check and see what kind of infection it is? Some infections respond better to certain anti biotics etc.

I could be wrong but it kinda looks like ringworm.

Getting a second opinion is a good idea.

I remember my dog had a very bad sore for a long period, the vet tried everything, finally I changed vets - and he sorted very quickly.

In my case (according the the vet) some chemical is released from excessive licking of the sore, which she found enjoyable. Not sure if that's all true, but a second opinion helped for me.

Hope you can sort it out for her.

It looks extremely similar to what happens my Kovu ever so often. Now we never actually found out what was causing it as I never had a skin scraping done. But the vet said it could be any number of things, an allergy, a habit he's gotten into by excessive licking etc but we did find out that steroid tablets cured it. So now whenever i see a small patch starting up again (hasn't happened in over a year now) I just give him the tablets again & he's right as rain. We tried a cream as well but found he just licked it off and made the patches even worse, the only way we could stop him was to stick a babygro on him as he's an outdoor/indoor cat.

And on the backs of his legs the year before.

This is when it started to heal, the proud flesh is still there but starting to close up.

Looks like hot spots to me. One of my dogs gets it if I change his food. Switch her to a sensitive food (ask vet which one is best for skin) treat the affected area with Manuka honey to let it heal.
