Has anyone any experience utilising the export processing zones in China?

Interested to learn about any of the EPZ's but Guandong and Shenzen are the two that would be best to hear about.

We are ordering a component from Germany into China which will be assembled as part of a final product that will then be exported to the EU. Hence we are looking to use the EPZ's to avoid paying Chinese duties and Vat.

How do we go about getting the exemption? Does all of our manufacturing have to be carried out within the EPZ's? Anybody able to recommend a specialist that could set us up?
