Issue with a G Shock

So my trusty, sturdy gshock was working away fine for the last 3 years up until yesterday morning. I went to adjust the time back an hour and the adjust button wouldn't work, I pressed the other 3 and the illumination button and all were working fine. After a few minutes, I tried again and still nothing but now none of the other buttons are working either.

I don't think it's a battery issue as it is still keeping perfect time and the second display is still working fine.

Any ideas? It is a gr8900a

I dunno about G-Shocks, but I"ve had issues with digitals in the past where basically gunk built up under and around the pushers and that caused intermittent problems . Maybe that's it, or something like it?

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Edit - It's a solar watch. Stupid question but is it simply run down too low? Casio Solar watches go into power save mode, disabling some functions when the battery is too low. Leave it on the window sill for a while.

Most likely it's something like Wibbs suggested.

Sometimes one button - or more specifically the internal contact - is stuck in the 'pushed in' position and is therefore hogging the button registration, preventing other buttons from being allowed to register. Can be something as simple as a bent contact.

I would give it a good clean under a tap first to see if it's semi-external gunk causing it. If that doesn't do the job then you will have to take it apart to investigate further. It's something you can do yourself if you are reasonably handy and careful. If not leave it to a watch repair shop.

If you take it apart yourself be super careful not to lose any springs. When you remove the back cover on most Casio digitals there's a couple of tiny loose springs which sit loose in specific holes on the module (make a diagram if necessary).
