I am currently with Axa insurance, their renewal quote is close to €1200, however if I go onto their site and get a new quote (with all the same benefits) I am getting one that is close to €950.

Can I just buy this without any push back from Axa ?

    Yes.

Just make sure you are getting like for like cover.

Cheers, in-fact I have added an extra add-on with the new policy that wasn't included in my previous one.

Yeah, I've done exactly this with Aviva for the last 2 years, although I did let my policy lapse for a day before taking the new policy.

The best bit is that they still insisted me sending in my proof of NCD....

That's to make sure it wasn't being used elsewhere on another car
