Telescope for 6 year old

Hi I have 6 year old who is really interested in the moon and would love a telescope for xmas. I don't really know what to look for and I wonder are the ones in smyths etc overpriced and not great? Anyway would spend €70-100. Any suggestions or help thanks

Yes, I would personally avoid the toy telescopes - they have very poor optics and are basically a waste of money.

But here's a nice one, made by a proper manufacturer and will give views similar to those from a medium-sized binocular:

At that age I would go with Binoculars instead and a map of the night sky. I started out when I was a young lad using binoculars.
