    Hi,

Can anyone give me some suggestions for a different career move. I really want to get away from working as a nurse. I don't want to go back to college or do anymore study.

Has anyone worked as a nurse and decided to go for something else?

Maybe keep an open mind on the further study and see it as a.means to an end. What about health and safety or occupational health?

Perhaps an admin job in hse?

    What about research?

    Science related jobs perhaps?

Just throwing out ideas that you can research or further posters can add to what's involved.

My ultimate question is, what interests you?

You don't need to go back to college full-time, but you shouldn't rule out further study. If something interests you studying it can also be fulfilling.
You could do a 2 year part-time conversion course and fund it through your nursing salary. Perhaps take out a small student loan and reduce your hours to a 4 day week, dedicating 1 day to study.
As for area to work in.. what interests you? Occupational health sounds obvious enough. Childcare maybe. Counselling or psychotherapy. You could also work in a more specialist area of nursing like psychiatric nursing.

sorry for mentioning study when you specifically said you didnt want to.. just, very little else you can do with a nursing degree besides nursing without at least some effort to retrain. Maybe work in admin or a legal field with knowledge of medical terms, but even that could require a cert.
