I have been suffering terrible pain on top and side of head, just found out that my jaw misalignment has worn on some nerve that is causing pain in face and head, the most awful pain I have been through, gets worse on chewing, going out without hat on cold evening and bending, wondering if any other person here know or have this , caused by worn down nerve

I suffer similar, down to lack of available orthodontic work when younger and having ongoing stress and anxiety issues.. It's now mainly treated with medication for the stress/anxiety but long term i require dental work of some sort.. Don't know what yet as i haven't a penny to put to it, kinda scared to check out prices for the ortho work i would need..

i think gum guards will be the answer, while sleeping, to stop grinding

Have you checked out the dental hospitals, sometimes they do work very cheaply.
I went to the doc recently to get antibiotics for an ear infection but she prescribed an anti-inflammatory as she said it was pain from my jaw,I was totally cynical but they worked immediately, maybe they'd help you.

will have to find a dentist that understand what is going on,and get them to help with this, wondering if it can be covered by vhi, due to it being a problem causing head pain and stress

I have a custom made mouth splint, the generic ones won't help much- or last too long either. I had to pay privately but was able to get nearly half back in tax refunds.
Things like chewing gum and biting your nails can also make the issue worse, would you believe!
