Can't top up wallet on Playstation network

    Found this very frustrating today.  Wanted to add funds so I could pre-order content and none of my cards worked, same with paypal.  Read that it's not a new thing so went and bought two 50 euro topups from GameStop expecting that I'd have immediate delivery.... no such luck.
    So I've two questions, 
    Is it common for PSN to stop accepting cards that have been previously used?
    How long will it take GameStop to deliver the codes?
    EDIT - GameStop delivered the digital code after 6 hours.  Sorted.
