When making a tax return I see it is quite clearly stated that you cannot claim for any medical expenses that are covered by private insurance.

Whats not clear to me is can you claim tax relief on what is left over after you are reimbursed ?

So for example your expenses are 200 euro and your VHI gives you 100 back. Can you claim and get 20% of the remaining 100 ?
