Removal of gas fireplace

We have a faux, flueless fireplace in our sitting room. We don't really use it, if it was a real stove it'd be different. Thinking about removing it and straighten the protruding wall section out as well. This way at least we could have a bigger space and nicer layout to the room.

I wonder, would you have any idea how much would be the rough cost for this?

Remove the fireplace, blank the gas pipe off, push the plasterboard back by 75cm and paint the new section.

If there's a gas pipe there, you will need an RGI to disconnect and move/blank the gas pipework. Depending on where the piper is, exact 80-100 for the RGI. As for the rest, you'd most likely be speaking with a builder.
