    Hoping someone here can help.
My father in law recently returned to Ireland after 20 years working abroad.
He owns about 40 acres and has decided to do a bit farming part time on it.
While he was away he was renting it out to a local farmer.
Is there any way he can check is their entitlements on this land for Single Farm Payment?
Or how can he get entitlements on it.
I'm not sure if the farmer was claiming them.

He has no claim to any entitlements ,these belong to farmer who had it rented ,if he wants entitlements he can lease or buy them .I dont think he will qualify to get some from national reserve either

You can be sure he was claiming entitlements on it if he's had the place a while. But as the previous poster said their his entitlements not your uncle's. Your uncle could lease or buy these entitlements off him but if he was cute he probably stacked them on his own place a couple if years ago.
