Connecting water pump to oil central heating system.

I'm replacing the water pump on my oil central heating system, but do not know which direction the water should flow. I no longer have the old pump so can't find out from that.
There is an arrow on the pump which I think tells me the water flow direction but I don't know if this should flow towards the oil burner or not.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Sean.

Depends on which pipe the pump is being fitted. Flow is away from boiler at the top and towards the boiler if fitted on the bottom pipe.
