    Hi

I'm looking for a few suggestions for a car that will be big enough to be able to throw the bike into, when I use it! And be able to put the golf clubs into as well.

    Current car - 09 Mazda 6 1.8 petrol

Looking for - another petrol or hybrid, budget max €18k.

I like the look and reviews of the Seat Leon, maybe 2016 model 1.4 tsi but ultimately while a nice car is probably too small storage wise. I've seen a few corollas online but don't like the look of them

It looks like another boring old saloon car or maybe SUV. Any thoughts?

Auris hybrid tourer would probably do. Bit dull though.

    Lexus RX400/450h?

    Update

Test drove 3 cars today. New Honda Civic , 1.0 and 1.5. Both fine cars with excellent handling and acceleration. Good sized boot and really felt planted to the road at high speed, wonderful power available and if anything I slightly favoured the 1.0, really impressive engine. I felt the infotainment system let the car down somewhat as everything is touch screen, but that's the way it is these days. The 1.0 in SE trim comes in at a hefty €27,500 but has lots of safety kit onboard.

I also test drove the 1.4tsi Seat Leon FR, and great acceleration there, very well insulated against road noise, loved the alcantara seats, really enjoyable ride. Loved the steering wheel too. It's 171 with less than 150 km on the clock so essentially new. The boot is small granted but the back seats fold down so I'll manage. Got a good deal on it so overall very happy and looking forward to some happy driving.

I'll miss the Mazda 6, last week I drove to Dublin from Limerick and got 7.4ltr/100km which I think is very good from an 09 petrol 1.8. The aerodynamic design of that car really helps it in that regard.

Bazz26 - Would a turbo engine benefit from premium unleaded in terms of efficiency?

I don't know to be honest. My feeling would be that the price difference between that Topaz Miles+ stuff per litre and their regular stuff would probably cancel any savings out but I could be wrong.
