    On bt sport/espn
    Early prelims 12-1 fightpass
    Prelims 1-2
    Main 2-5.30 Bt sport/espn
    ch 426 on sky

double checked that 1-2 on bt sports/sky, unusual to have only an hour of the prelims televised

At a loose end and thinking of having a decent bet on covington so said I'd stick this up and see what folks think.
I think maia struggles with covington same way he struggled v woodley by being unable to get covington down.
I like machida but I could see him coming back and losing a pts decision by doing sweet feck all.
A few decent looking scraps here...lineker, trinaldo miller, carlos jnr to name a few, card could surprise a few up to the two main fights which won't be too entertaining imo.

I'll be going Covington and Brunson too. I like these cards where there's lots of close fights.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 810 ✭✭✭fermanagh_man

    Miller/Trinaldo
    Linekar/Vera
    Lique/Price

3 great fights there outside the main and co-main

This card will most likely unfortunately go unnoticed but many but has potential for a lot off great fights

Maia to eat Covington on the ground.

I can see Colvington stuffing some of Maia's takedowns. But he's a wrestler, and he'll shoot himself, and he won't out-grapple Maia.

I hope Maia mauls Colby in the most uncomfortable way possible.

    Hate speech :eek::eek::eek::eek: omggggg :pac::pac::pac:

People need to be careful with using words like that in 2017, same reason Conor got in trouble. (even if there is no malice behind it)

The media day face-offs. Colby Covington amuses me. Also he's only 29, he looks like he's pushing 40!

Did you even listen to anything anyone said in the other thread?

Why are you still trying to defend what he said?

The conor thread is leaking again.

Maia to get back on track. Him winning the belt would delight me. Probably need someone else to dethrone Woodley though

I'm not sure Maia ever gets a shot at the title again tbh

Yeah he's had 2 title fights and they have both been boring 5 round matches. Dana hates that anyway but especially when they are a ppv headliner. He'd need a 10 fight win streak to give Dana no option but at his age that isn't gonna happen.

Woodley had had 3 stinkers in a row. Is say dana is hoping someone takes the.belt off him

Dont suppose anyone can help shed some light for me? if this fight is starting at 2am but the clocks go back an hour, is this starting at 1am then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭tinpib

It says 11pm on the ufc site, but not up and running yet. Is it 11:30pm?

Up and running now. Don't see myself staying up too long, will watch in in the morning. This Colombo guy is the spit of Dan 'Dad Bod' Kelly.

Would be brilliant if the main card is kicking off at 1am our time :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭tinpib

    Well that was one sided.

And just one more thing :pac:, I think Colombo could be cut.

    edit: announced his retirement.

Pretty decent top control there. Very quick transition when marshman started giving his back.

Caught up this morning. Great scrap between dos Santos/Griffin, see it got fight of the night.

As usual my outsider picks lost. And as usual my favourites lost as well. :pac:

Enjoyed Jared Gordon again, like the way he is relentless coming forward. Marshman got outclassed.

Santos/Hermanson was good as well, great KO power with Santos. Trinaldo won the battle of the old farts.

Have no idea what Maia was thinking exchanging punches. I thought his heart might be gone before the fight, missed Colvington's post fight interview, will go back and watch it. Maia was spouting blood in the last 30 seconds of the fight, a serious beating.

Brunson went exactly as expected. I thought Machida was way past it in his last 2 fights, thought it was recent enough but time is flying and they were back in 2015. At 39 that fight was only going to end one way, 1.61 on Brunson was a great price.

Very quiet thread here, but next week's card should be great.
