As above a friend wants to use the record facility and asked me to help, I know it can record so going to get a 32gb usb but is there any particular model that works best?

Sandisk Cruzerblades are pretty good and work fine for me. Red ones. Small.

or

SanDisk SDCZ80-032G are double the price but are super fast.
