    Hi,

I've searched through the forums here but I can't see this covered anywhere really.

So we have a situation in work where there is probable voluntary redundancies as part of a work force reduction it's a large MN.

I've passed a few interviews for an independent new job elsewhere but no offer yet, would I be legally able to volunteer myself for redundancy in my current job if I was offered the new position in another company? Bear in mind i wouldn't be accepting the job yet, it would be an offer.

Curveball my current company would become my customer if i took the new job, and I would be located physically in the same building.

    Appreciate any advice,

No reason why not. I did this...moved from salary to contracting. Sat at same desk next Monday. Actually could be tax advantages for company.

It's the role that is made redundant, not the person - it's completely up to you where you decide to work after that.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if you could return to the same company, in a diffeeent role - with no impact on redundancy payment.

Have redundancies actually been announced yet? You might have to stay a few months until they decide which roles are being made redundant? If you leave now they may say you are not entitled to a redundancy payment as you have quit to take a new role.

    Depends on company policy.
I work for multinational and can't work for similar company on the customer site where we are working for 6 months.
I know customer employees are not allowed to go-to vendors on the site for six months including redundancy unless they have permission.
