    Hi all hope in writing in the right forum would anyone know of anyone or where to look for a full time live in carer for my mum in the Galway area.I would really appreciate any help thanks a mill

    Talk to your local community health nurse. She is a very important person to help you with the care of your mother.

    There is an HSE scheme for which you can apply to provide home help and carers.

    Talk to your mums GP too

    You could find a university student who might be willing, in exchange for bed and board, to sleep in your mothers house, and prepare her breakfast and/or evening meal. My friends dad in Dublin did this, and it was very successful for him. He just wanted the security of having someone in the house overnight in case of problems.

    Thanks a mill she lives out the country so I don't think it would suit a student but thank you for your advice and help will look into them
