Fujitsu lifebook won't boot Windows 10 Disc

The partition that's on the hard drive on the Fujitsu a514 lifebook laptop is corrupt so I wanted to reinstall Windows 10 onto it.
I put in the Windows 10 disc and I have the BIOS changed to boot from DVD first and also tried disabling fast boot.
    Nothing seems to work.
I booted Linux Ubuntu fine on it yesterday but no Windows disc will work.

I have the Windows 10 disc in the tray, I turn on the laptop, I'm asked to press any key to boot from DVD or CD, I press a key and nothing happens then after about 1 or 2 minutes a black screen with "Fujitsu" printed in white appears.
A little dashed circle scrolls around and then it's a black screen for eternity until I turn the damn thing off with the power button.

It's a friend's laptop that I'm trying to sort out for him.
    Has anyone any ideas?

The Windows 10 repair disc was downloaded and burnt using the Microsoft website.
Please tell me I don't need to order a bloody recovery disc from Fujitsu themselves.

You can create a Windows 10 USB bootable device. This is preferable over a DVD to be honest. Worth a shot at this point. That's how I've installed/repaired all windows installs since 7. All you will need is any 8gb+ USB drive. You should be able to use the microsoft media creation tool to do this.

It's worth a shot in case there is something wrong with the DVD or the drive.

    That won't work.
I'll have to buy a new flash drive to do that and I'd be only wasting my time and money.
The ubuntu live disc booted so the dvd I created should have booted.
    It worked on another pc.
Its like it doesn't react to when" I press any key to boot" and does its own Fujitsu crap.
If it hadn't tried to boot the dvd I wouldn't see "Press any key to boot Dvd/cd".
    What else can I try?

Ok I did some stuff with Ubuntu and got the Windows 10 disc to work.
I could not install Windows on it, it said the harddrive was faulty.
So I need to get a new laptop harddrive.
Can someone recommend a good laptop harddrive to buy that's not too expensive but is reliable enough?

Yep that would explain things really!

Something like this would be fine:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hitachi-500GB-5400rpm-Laptop-Macbook/dp/B01MQH7ML6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509012574&sr=8-1&keywords=500gb+laptop+hdd

Now might be a good time to consider an SSD upgrade, but that would double the cost for half the storage.
