    Now that its ROI counterpart has become be3.

    No, but it’s taken one step closer towards becoming ITV Northern Ireland this week, as promos now use the network voiceovers.

    Not a hope in hell for a long as NI remains part of the UK. It's actually impossible without a replacement of the entire broadcasting legislation in the UK.

    If, for some inexplicable reason, TV3 Group bought it they could only change the name; it would still be a Channel 3 licencee. But ITV are not going to sell it.

    No reason not to rebrand, if they did buy UTV, to TV3, or to do as ITV has done to make the logo and idents more like that of TV3. If they have a multichannel plan 3e would require a separate schedule (channel 5 programming). be3 possibly wouldn't have to change.

    It would remain a different station to TV3. And ITV would still hold the licence for GMB.

    I don't see ITV selling, their might be a deal were Malone might consider increase his share of ITV to allow for TV3 to come under ITV's umbrella.
