    Hello,

    Looking to spend only around 1k and had a rav4 in mind. Hopefully pick one up for around that!

    Anything to look out for besides the obvious?

    Thanks

    Nope, just don't bother with a 4wd model. A 2wd 1.8 is the only way to go.
    They can enjoy a sup of oil, but you're not really gonna know that till after you buy.

    Keep in mind things like tyres, tax and insurance won't be cheap

    Honda CRV is worth looking at too.

    yes forgot about the CRV thanks must take a look also and compare between the two. Can anyone link to either of these two in terms of looking like an ok price be it carzone or donedeal?

    All 1.8 are 2wd

    There is very little value in buying in that price range from a dealer. The warranty and comeback will be worth nothing.

    I'd look at something like this with a decent bit of NCT on it:

    MzU2NGQ0MjZiNDU1MDBkZDQ5NTRiMjA1NjE4MDcwMjCqTHmcVutjxLV3LhWwyl9gaHR0cDovL3MzLWV1LXdlc3QtMS5hbWF6b25hd3MuY29tL2RvbmVkZWFsLmllLXBob3Rvcy9waG90b184NTA1OTU4OXx8fDYwMHg2MDB8fHx8fHx8fA==.jpeg

    Or this CR-V:

    OTVjNGI1OGFiNDNmOTVlZTZlNTkxYzhkODU4NDM1NjEvMWSVHFa4HHtC-BT8LcP7aHR0cDovL3MzLWV1LXdlc3QtMS5hbWF6b25hd3MuY29tL2RvbmVkZWFsLmllLXBob3Rvcy9waG90b184NjUzMjkwNnx8fDYwMHg2MDB8fHx8fHx8fA==.jpeg

    no definetly wont be buying from a dealer, im am looking to spend 1500 absolute max. Im moving back from the UK next month and the Rav4 was my preference. Will see what i can get within that price range. Jan would likely be better as people might throw on fresh NCT but will need it beginning first week of dec. That black one looks clean.

    p.s is that green light verified thing on donedeal legit?

    NCT doesn't start/end any particular month.

    Why avoid the awd models?

    Heavier on fuel and tyres, more mechanically complicated and higher tax being 2.0. Avoid diesel ones at all costs as they are a ticking time bomb.
