Enclosure to Wifi enable a hard disk

I was wondering if anybody knew of an enclosure for a 2.5 inch hard drive which would either allow the device to be accessed over WiFi or has an ethernet port where I could connect it to my router. I don't want to have to physically connect the hard drive to the laptop/tv etc. every time I want to use it.

Your router does not have a USB socket for attaching a HDD?

Tthere are quite a number of wifi models on ebay ..... but none I noticed with ethernet connection.

There might be something like this for 2.5" drives

It's just a virgin media hub modem/router so has no USB.

I'll check ebay, don't need wifi and Ethernet, either will do once I can access the device on my home network

Buy a diskless enclosure NAS, many of the Synologys support 2.5" disks. But when you insert the disk it will need to be formatted to get started.
